Was the chocolate factory a really happy place? Yes, it was. In ESL class, we read the book called "Charlie and the chocolate factory." I used to watch movie before but didn't have any chance to read the book. By reading it, I have realized the book was really amusing.
Basically, there were five children who had got the golden tickets to enter the factory. Augustus was a young boy who loved eating candy. He even ate a lot of chocolates even in just one day. Veruca, who had endless desire to get something, was extremely rich that she could buy anything she wanted. Violet was a gum chewer-which meant the girl who always chewed gums wherever she went. Mike was a little boy who was crazy about video games. He also was violent since he indulged in violent games. Charlie, who received award and became a factory keeper. Moreover, there was the most important character in the story. Mr. Wonka was the owner the chocolate factory.
I would like to briefly summarise the story. There was a poor boy who was Charlie. He had to live with his parents and grand-parents. They had no enough money that all family was about to starve to death. One day, Charlie luckily picked up the money and bought the chocolate. Inside, there was a golden ticket. Charlie and his grandpa Joe started adventuring the factory.
I was pleased to read this book since I really liked the way Roald Dahl, who wrote this story, created those interesting characters. Moreover, it was fun for me to read because I like the way they spoke. They were very comical and fun. It was really interesting to read.
This coming winter vacation, I would like to try other Roald Dahl's fantasy book. She is an awesome writer.
